To prevent an excessive battery usage, you must knowledgeable enough to know the ways on how to extend the usage of your Samsung S4. Here are some tips that will extend the battery life of your phone:
- Connectivity - Connectivity includes Wi-fi, Bluetooth, GPS and the use of mobile data. Using Wi-fi as well as mobile data will continuously drain your battery faster. Try to turn them off from the settings menu if your not using them.
- Superb Features - Awesome features of Galaxy S4 also consumes your battery faster. Maybe they are so cool to brag with your friends but be responsible to turn them off when you don't need them.
- Display - Try to reduce the brighness of your phone whenever needed or switch to auto-brightness so that the phone will reduce the brightness automatically. Also reduce the screen time-out of your phone to the minimum.
- Background Apps - Some of the application is still running even you close them. Running apps drinks extra juice from your batter. Be sure to close background apps by checking the built-in app manager of your phone. If your a basic user, just hold the Home button and tap the clear button on the bottom-right corner to clear the background apps.
- Synchronization - Synchronization or sync is the ability of the phone to fetch data from different servers so that they can send you notifications and updates. For instance, your Facebook App can notify you of new messages and updates from your friends without opening the app. It is because Facebook uses the synchronization feature of your phone. Like background apps, sync is running in the background and consumes your battery so if you don't neet it, you can just turn it off. (note: if you turn off the synchronization, you cannot recieve a real-time notification unless you open the app)
- Activate the Flight-Mode - The word flight mode doesn't mean that you only use it in the airplane. Flight-mode is essential for saving battery life. It has the ability to turn off most of the connectivity such as wi-fi and mobile data. Be catious because the radio signal will also turn off when flight-mode is activated which means you cannot recieve calls and sms. Use flight-mode only when your not expecting calls or sms.
- Activate the Built-in Power Saver - Galaxy S4 has a built-in power saving mode. Drag the notification bar at the top screen with your two fingers and look for Power Saver.
- Install Battery-Saving Apps - There's a lot battery-saving apps that you can download in the Playstore but I will suggest one app. Try to use Battery Doctor. One feature of this app is the ability to create power saving modes and schedule it when you want to activate it. It also includes battery saving tips and proper way to charge your phone.
